Casa Las Almas - Mazunte

We enjoyed warm and attentive hospitality at Casa Las Almas, extending our stay from 3 nights to 6. Charlie, Luigi and Chef Pepe provided outstanding service, worthy of grander hotels (we have stayed in worldwide). The site is truly stunning on top of the hillside overlooking Mazunte and San Augustinillo: the reason for less than 5 stars on Location is the 80 steps necessary to climb up to Reception and the Pool Deck. If you are fit enough to do so, it is entirely worth it. Also a car or scooter is preferable for access to Mazunte.

One of the most incredible weeks of my life. The hotel is perfect for Mazunte: Luxurious and comfortable casitas; infinity pool overlooking the pacific. As soon as you leave the hotel's gate you are on a rural path down hill to the main town. The climb home gives exercise and the pool gives perfect relief after a long day at the beach. The meals were extraordinary. Simple local ingredients. The star was Fernando the hotelier. Every request was serviced immediately. Cool, kind, attentive, generous. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Would love for it to be kept a secret but also want them to thrive so l can go back as often as possible. Full stars across the board.

We spent a glorious two weeks Las Almas, and I wish I could have stayed longer. The hotel is magical - Up in the hills, with a beautiful view of the ocean, you have a real sense of privacy (which is pretty hard to come by when you're so close to the town). The main communal area is truly stunning - and the perfect space for working, chilling, eating, and entertaining. The breakfasts were out of this world. Fresh, local produce prepared by his lovely staff. The rooms are perfect - secluded and clean, and the beds are arguably the comfiest I've ever experienced in a hotel. Vlad is the definition of a perfect host - continually going above and beyond to make sure all of your needs are satisfied. We fell in love with him and his place, and we can't wait to come back!! Thank you!!!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The views alone are worth the stay — breathtaking panoramas that make every morning and evening feel special. Whether you’re enjoying coffee at sunrise or winding down at sunset, the scenery creates a truly relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious, and incredibly comfortable. Everything feels thoughtfully arranged, from the quality of the bedding to the small details that make the space both elegant and cozy. It’s the kind of room you genuinely look forward to returning to after a long day. The restaurant is another highlight. The food is excellent — beautifully presented, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the overall dining experience, service, and ambiance absolutely justify it. It feels like a special treat rather than just a hotel meal. Service throughout the hotel was professional, warm, and attentive. The staff made sure everything ran smoothly, which made the stay feel effortless and relaxing. Overall, this is a top-tier hotel that delivers on comfort, atmosphere, and quality. I would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

Such a lovely place, Fernando and Luigi are truly running the show here. They are the most amazing people, helping to organize everything you need. The food here is amazing, freshly prepped by Luigi, who is an amazing cook. Rooms are all new and clean, the pool has the best view. I would definitely come again!!! I don’t get the negative points raised by previous reviewers, the location on the map is accurate, so yes it is a little walk to the town, but either you use the path (that btw we’ve been accompanied for the first time by the host) or the staff will help to organize scooters to get around easily. The AC is brand new and works perfectly, we didn’t have any problems. Also big thanks to Fernando, he is such a good soul and always friendly, no matter what time of the day.

This place is top notch. Amazing views, comfortable rooms, good food and great cocktails. Also, Fernando and Luigi are both amazing hosts and happy to help however they can. Hate to share the secret, but this place is a gem in an amazing area of Mexico. Nos vemos!

Hardly ever give reviews but for this place I’ll make an exception. We had the best time there and are already missing it! The rooms are very specious and beautiful, the views are amazing, I loved the gorgeous pool, delicious food and drinks and best of all the people working there. Luigi and Fernando (sorry I forgot the name of the chef that made our days with his breakfasts every day ) are such nice people and make you feel right at home. Yes, it’s a bit of a climb to get to the town and beaches but you can take a camionetta or taxi and it is just so relaxing being in the calm on top of the hill. Thanks again everyone!

We had such a beautiful time at Casa Las Almas… This place is a hidden gem. Gorgeous views, Incredible pool, beautiful landscaping, great service, delicious food. Fernando and Pepe took such great care of us… Highly recommended!
